Flag Description

Yesterday, I saw a berthed tall ship, the schooner Liberty flying a flag I didn't recognize. It was a white profile of a tall ship in full sail above the upper case letters ASTA (also in white), all on a dark blue field.

Browsing the Liberty's website didn't reveal a photo with the flag, nor an explanation, but a bit of googling showed that ASTA stood for American Sail Training Association - an organization promoting opportunities for youth to train on traditional tall ships, which also sponsors a series of sailing challenges for such vessels

The organization's logo as appears on that page is the same design as the flag (although I'm not sure if the small Registered Trademark symbol is on the flag).
