Coat of arms

Shield Argent, two twigs of cherry Vert, each one with a triplet of cherries in fess fruited Gules, in chief a torn coat Gules, a bunch of alternating grain, three rye ears Vert and two corn cobs Or, all tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "BRUFE - VILA NOVA DE FAMALICÃO"
The torn coat is an attribute of St. Martin, the local patron saint.
