Remse Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a house Gules with port and windows Argent and roof and spire Sable; in dexter chief a Benedictine cross Azure, having inscriptions Or as follows: "CSSML" on the vertical crossbar , on the horizontal crossbar "NDSMD" and on four annexed balls "CSPB"; in sinister chief a lion rampant Sable tongued Gules.
The house is the so called "red stick" (German: roter Stock), probably remains of the former local namesake Benedictine Nunnery. Also the cross is referring to the nunnery. The lion is taken from the arms of the Margraves of Meißen as liege lords of the local rulers, the Lords of Schönburg.
