Ruhpolding Coat of Arms

Coat of Arms: Shield Gules a linden Or issuant from the central peak of a triplemount Vert in base, the trunk superimposed in centre by a fess wavy Argent and beneath by an inescutcheon Argent charged with an impending cross Gules charged with an axe Argent in pale hafted Or.
The triplemount is representing the former independent municipalities of Ruhpolding proper, Vachenau and Zell. The linden is representing the new enlarged municipality. The fess wavy is a representation of the Traun River. The cross is representing the stone crosses in front of the local chapel, dedicated to St. Valentin. Finally the axe is referring to a local court of justice.
