Mühlhausen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Gules a plate Argent filled with pieces of cut fish Azure, beneath Or a lower demi-millwheel Gules.
The complete area of the current municipality belonged to the Imperial Lordship of Sulzbürg, ruled by the Barons of Wolfstein. The municipality itself was established in 1818 and enlarged successively in the 20th century. Kruppach and Bachhausen were incorporated in 1972, Wappersdorf in 1974 and Sulzbürg Market Town in 1975, together with parts of the former Oberndorf Municipality. The millwheel (German: Mühlrad) is a canting element. Plate and fish are taken from the arms of the former market town of Sulzbürg and are punning, referring to a bowl of fish (local language: eine Sulz von Fischen). In the town arms the plate had been placed onto the top of a green triplemount.
