Lauterhofen Coat of Arms

On top of a mount issuant Vert an embattled tower Gules with pitched roof and turrets of the same, at its base superimposed by an inescutcheon lozengy of Argent and Azure, supported by two lions rampant Or, crowned, armed and tongued Gules.
Lauterhofen had been a royal estate and was acquired by the Wittelsbach kin in the 12th century. The oldest local seals from the early 15th century with prints since 1439 displayed only the addorsed lions and the inescutcheon. The Palatine lion and the Bavarian lozenges are representing the Wittelsbach kin. Later seals added tower and mount but omitted the lozengy shield, which was again introduced in 1819.
