Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above is a red demi-lion issuant, blue crowned, tongued and armed. Below in a black field is a silver (=white) shuttle with a silver (=white) yarn coming out of the shuttle. The coat of arms was granted by the Prussian king Wilhelm II in 1892.
The lion belongs to the coat of arms of the counts of Berg. The shuttle symbolizes the textile industries and the manufacturing of cloth since the Middle Ages.
