Cap Bourbon (website) was established in Le Port in 1998 via the association of two family fishing companies:
- Le Garrec, specialized in fishing in the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea, and pioneer in fishing overseas;
- SOPESUD (Société de Pêche du Sud), a Réunion-based company specialized in tuna and swordfish longline fishing, which was liquidated in 2012 and acquired by Réunipêche.

Cap Bourbon's unique target is toothfish, a fish exploited in the Kerguelen and Crozet islands zone since the 1990s (sold un the US as "Chilean seabass"; in Japan as "mero"; in Chile as "bacaloa de profundidad" [deep cod]; in Argentina as "merluza negra" [black cod]). Engaged in responsible, sustainable fishing, Cap Bourbon was awarded the Durable Fishing ecolabel by the Marine Steward Council.
Cap Bourbon operates Cap Kersaint, a longline ship equipped with a deep-freeze unit (length, 60 m; width, 13 m; speed, 12 knots; deep-freeze storage volume, 900 m3). Built in 2016 at the Piriou shipyard, the ship is suitable for fishing in the Antarctic harsh conditions, thanks to its "Ice class 1C" certified hull. Other innovations are the back slipway and the central "moon pool" allowing to bring back the longline and preventing unwanted bird capture.

The flag of Cap Bourbon (photo, photo) is blue with a white lozenge touching the flag's edges, charged in the center with a red star surrounded by the blue letters "C" and "B".
The flag, except the letters "C" and "B", is similar to the house flag of Euronor, established in 2006 as the merger of Le Garrec and Nord Pêcheries. The general design recalls Le Garrec's original flag, with a green instead of blue background.

Société de Remorquage et de Sauvetage de la Réunion (Reunion Towage and Salvage Company), a company based in Le Port, is a subsidiary of the French group Bourbon Maritime.

The house flag of SRSR is white with a red border all around and the red letters SRSR placed horizontally in the white field. This flag is similar to the flag of Les Abeilles International, a towage and salvage company operating in European France and also part of Bourbon Maritime.
