The World baseball Classic (WBC) baseball games between 20 teams from around the world began in the United States, Japan, and Taiwan. The nickname of the Japanese baseball team is "Samurai Japan. The flag consists of the words "Samurai Japan" written in black letters in English on the home base of a baseball with a gold border in the center and the red Hinomaru below it. Two other types of cheering flags, white and blue with the Samurai Japan team uniform pattern, are also sold.
