The flag belongs to the State of the same name (founded by Vijayarang Gajapati Raj in 1852) when this State merged with POL State in 1898, the Rao of Pol became Rao of Vijaynagar & died in 1905. The line was continued by his 3 brothers, then a nephew (Rao Hamir Singh reigned 1914-? (born 1904) possibly being the last reigning Rao.

As can be gleamed from "Memoranda on the Indian States" published 1934, Vijaynagar lies a few miles N.E. of Idar City on the Rajasthan/Gujarat border today, & just North of Dungarpur (in Rajasthan).

Pol State had existed since 1577 and was about 135 Sq. Miles (349.65 km2)
Pol & Vijaynagar  (known as just VIJAYNAGAR) = 140 Sq. Miles (362.6 km2)
