Presentation of Jasenice

The municipality of Jasenice (1,398 inhabitants in 2011, 1,272 in the village of Jasenice) is situated about 40 km north-east of Zadar inlands towards the Velebit mountains from the Novigrad sea, where the new highway passes by the Sveti Rok tunnel under the Mali Alan mountain top.
The place was much destroyed in the bombing and rocketing from the Velebit positions held by Serb rebels during the Homeland War.

The symbols of Jasenice (municipal website) are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Jasenice, adopted on 9 June 2000 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 25 October 2000 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Zadarske županije, No. 6.
The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Jasenice, adopted on 25 January 2006 and published on 1 February 2006 in Službeni glasnik Zadarske županije, No. 3. This is repeated in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Jasenice, adopted on 22 July 2009 and published on 19 August 2009 in Službeni glasnik Zadarske županije, No. 16 (text).

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
Decision Odluka o imenovanju Komisije za izradu grba Općine Jasenice, adopted on 22 August 1997 and published on 1 February 2006 in Službeni glasnik Zadarske županije, No. 3, appointed a three-member Commission for the "production of the coat of arms".

The flag is prescribed in Article 9 of the Decision, as follows:

The flag of the Municipality of Jasenice is in proportions 1:2, blue, with the municipal coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle. Above the coat of arms is inscribed in golden letters "Općina Jasenice".

The black and white drawing in the gazette shows the flag wih the coat of arms but without any inscription in it, just as reported in use. It seems that the written description in the Decision is a "combined" description of the normal and ceremonial flags.
