Flag of Cernik

The symbols of Cernik, as shown on the Cernik Online website (defunct), were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, dark blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure two acorns and in chief two keys in saltire with the wards down outwards all or".
The keys refer to St. Peter, the patron saint of the parish. The arms are canting since the name of the place is derived from the archaic word cer meaning "oak".

The first symbols were adopted on 17 October 2002 by the Municipality Assembly.
The only difference with the current symbols is the coat of arms, "Azure an acorn and in chief two keys in saltire with the wards down outwards all or", that is with a single acorn instead of two.
