The symbols of Kršan are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Kršan (text), adopted on 20 October 2001 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 22 October 2001 in the Municipality official gazette Službeno glasilo Općine Kršan, No. 5.
This was repeated in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Kršan (text), adopted on 29 March 2006 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 30 March 2006 in Službeno glasilo Općine Kršan, No. 2, and in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Kršan (text), adopted on 29 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 30 July 2009 in Službeno glasilo Općine Kršan, No. 6.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is described in proportions 1:2, light blue, with the coat of arms set at the crossing point of the flag's diagonals, bordered with a thin golden border. The height of the coat of arms is 2/3 of the flag's width.

The coat of arms is the historical coat of arms, on a triangular (heart-shaped) shield colored red and outlined in black containing a black outlined silver arrowhead, its point toward the top.
It is the older coat of arms of the Pazinski (de Pisino) family. In the 14th century they renewed the Kršan castellum that had been ruined in the wars between the counts of Görz and the Patriarchs of Aquilea. A branch of the family under the name Kršanski (German, Chersainer) ruled Kršan until the middle 17th century. The coat of arms is pictured in the St. Nicholas church in Pazin and also on a stone carving in the walls of Kršan.

The flag of the folklore association (image) appears to be displayed on most community events in which the society takes part. The flag is made in the gonfalon style of ceremonial municipal flags, with the municipal coat of arms replaced with the society's emblem and the inscriptions in accordance. The emblem includes the municipal arms set infront of double pipes (diple or dvojnice), a characteristic instrument of the Istrian folk music. The inscription above reads in three arches "Kulturno umjetničko društvo" / "Ivan Fonović - Zlatela" / "Kršan", and, below, in old Croatian Glagolitic script in two arches, "Zlatela" / "Kršan".
