The Municipality of Kaštelir-Labinci, formed in 1997, is located in the central western part of Istria, some 15 km west of Pazin and 10 km north-east of Poreč.

Flag of Kaštelir-Labinci

The flag of of Kaštelir-Labinci (photo, 14 June 2012) is white with the coat of arms in the middle. It seems to be made of silk-like material, with a fringe.
Another, cheaper made copy of the flag (photo, 5 July 2010) has the coat of arms somewhat smaller, bordered yellow, and with the background of the shield light blue.

Željko Heimer & Ivan Grbac, 24 June 2012

Some 10 years ago, the municipality used a flag where the ground in the coat of arms is seen as red. Today, they don't really use the flag, but they use the coat of arms in a clearly visible brown color.

The coat of arms is "Azure on a base gules a ruined castle argent, a path of the last leading to it from the base". It pictures the ruins of Castle Nigrinjan.

It should be emphasized the red color of the soil on the coat of arms of the municipality, which has recently been shown as brown in compliance with Article 6 of the Decision from 2000.
The semicircular shape of the shield is divided horizontally into two unequal parts. The upper field is blue and occupies 2/3 of the shield. The base, 1/3 of the shield, is brown. Placed on the base, over both fields in the central part of the shield, there is an oval tower with a crown and right next to it a round tower. The round tower has a ruined / unfinished top, and is located on the right side touching the oval tower with a crown, which has three openings on it: two smaller openings/loopholes and an entrance opening at the bottom. Across the base of the shield, starting from the lower edge slightly to the left of the middle, a path runs towards the entrance opening on the tower with the crown, which narrows in front of the entrance opening. The oval tower with the crown is twice as wide as the round tower on its right. Both towers are built of stone blocks, and the path is gray in color.
