Presentation of Marijanci

Marijanci is located about 40 km northwest of Osijek. It has 2,719 inhabitants according to the 2001 census, 935 in the village of Marijanci proper. Beside traditional agriculture, in the municipality are also industries for the exploitation of natural gas and petroleum.

Flag of Marijanci

The symbols of Marijanci are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Marijanci (text), adopted on 13 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Marijanci.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms of Marijanci depicts the traditional iconic depiction of St. Mary, as "Argent St. Mary clad argent caped azure haloed or standing on a crescent also argent over a snake grey eating an apple gules all on a globe issuant azure".

The ceremonial flag (image) is a blue gonfalon ending with three triangularly ending tails with golden fringe along the bottom, the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the municipality above and ornaments of oak and birch branches in the tails.
