The symbols of Čepin (unofficial website) were adopted in 2008 by the Municipality Assembly. Graphical work was ordered from the Holeš d.o.o. printing house and graphical studio in Čepin.
The symbols were approved by the Central State Office for Administration on 7 April 2009.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, light blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure a sunflower or and in base a crescent increscent argent".
The sunflower symbolizes, naturally, the sunflower production and the sunflower oil, the main product of the municipality. The crescent and the blue background of the coat of arms are derived from the family arms of the Adamović family, "Azure a lion or rampant sinister standing on a crescent argent and propping of a column of the same issuant from the crescent and in the chief sinister a mullet or".

The municipality decided to adopt symbols in preparation for the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the first written mention of the place in documents (unofficial website). Therefore the municipality decided on 4 December 2007 to engage into adopting the symbols, commissioning Vinko Ivić, a history and pedagogy teacher from Osijek. They obtained the confirmation from the State Archives that there was no coat of arms/seal of Čepin in history, and Pr. Ivić worked with an unnamed academic painter and art history professor from Osijek on the graphical design.
The first proposed design of the arms was slightly modified, replacing the complex green seeds of the sunflower by a heraldically more pleasing, simpler yellow sunflower.
