Flag of Nova Rača

The symbols of Nova Rača (municipal website) are prescribed by Statutory Decision Statutarna odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Nova Rača, adopted on 25 March 2008 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 17 April 2008 in the County official gazette Županijski glasnik Bjelovarsko-bilogorske županije, No. 6.
The same description of the symbols is found in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Nova Rača, adopted on 18 March 2013 and published on 11 April 2013 in Županijski glasnik Bjelovarsko-bilogorske županije, No. 2 (text).

The flag is described in Article 7 of the Decision:

The flag of the Municipality of Nova Rača is blue; the ratio of the flag's length to its width is 2:1, in accordance with legal prescriptions. In the middle of the flag, at the crossing point of the diagonals is the coat of arms of the Municipality of Nova Rača, bordered golden/yellow.

The coat of arms is described in Article 7 of the Decision:

The coat of arms of the Municipality of Nova Rača is a semi-circular shield, with a blue border charged with 12 golden-yellow six-pointed stars. In the heart of the shield on a golden-yellow field is a blue three-storied tower with an oval dome roof and a Maltese cross at its top, and a blue crescent below the tower.

The central shield represents Nova Rača while the twelve stars represent the other twelve villages forming the municipality.

Before the adoption of the current symbols, the municipal website displayed a different coat of arms, "Azure a tower argent in sinister and a cross or between a mullet or and a crescent argent in dexter", closely connected with the current design.
The status of this coat of arms is unclear, possibly a proposal eventually replaced with the current design. It was still shown on the website in January 2009, when it was replaced with the design adopted in March 2008.
