Skíathos is one of the Northern Sporades Islands, in the northwestern part of the Aegean Sea.

The flag of Skíathos is white with an emblem showing a man in a black circle. The man is Alexandros Papadiamadis (1851-1911), a famous writer who was born and lived on this island. Under the circle, is written ΔΗΜΟΣ ΣΚΙΑΘΟΥ (Municipality of Skíathos).
