The former municipality of Aidipsós (Αιδηψός; 6,670 inhabitants in 2001) is a popular tourist destination, having 80 of Greece's 752 hot springs.

The flag of the municipality was white with its emblem, including the municipality's name and the date "2003" (Kokkonis website).
The emblem was probably used for the first time back in the 1880s. It represents Hercules holding a bat and two hot springs emitting vapors.
