Introduction

Mazagón (2,457 inhabitants in 2006), mostly known for its beach, is part of the municipalities of Moguer and Palos de la Frontera, Province of Huelva, Andalucía. The "Asociación de Vecinos de Mazagón" (AVEMA, Association of the Inhabitants of Mazagón) considers that Mazagón should became the 80th municipality of the Province of Huelva and has asked the Government of Andalucía to decree the secession. AVEMA has currently two seats in the municipal council of Mazagón, obtained in the 2007 municipal elections.

Description

On 27 May 2008, AVEMA presented in Huelva proposals of a municipal flag and arms for Mazagón. The flag, as shown in a colour photograph, is horizontally divided blue-dark yellow-green.
