Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver (= white) shield is a black church, accompanied by a green maple leaf and a red heraldic rose, seeded silver (= white) and barbed green.
Meaning:
The church is an image of the local parish church, completed in 1756. The tower, erected in 1702, is a well-known landmark. Rose and leaf are symbolizing the municipality as a centre of rose growing and tree nursery. Source: Reißmann 1997 , p.288

The flag was approved on 28 September 1983. The coat of arms was approved on 25 May 1952. The artist is Hanna Andrae from Rellingen.
