Coat of Arms

Shield Sable a gridiron Or.
Meaning:
The arms display a gridiron, the symbol of St. Lawrence, the patron saint of the municipality. The iron already appears on the oldest known seal from the late 16th century. All later seals displayed the gridiron as the main charge, and thus it was placed onto a shield and approved as arms in 1926. The colours are derived from the arms of the Palatinate, in black a golden lion, to which the municipality historically belonged.
