Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent a plough share Azure, at sinister Sable a staff Or in pale entwined with a serpent Argent.
Meaning:
The arms show the different aspects of the local economy; until the late 19th century the town had a mainly agricultural character, symbolised by the plough share. Nowadays the town is a health resort and spa, which is symbolised by the staff and serpent as attributes of Asclepius.
The arms were already designed in 1925, but approved in 1948 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
