[As the book (German: Buch) may imply wrongly, the emblem is not canting. The name Buchsiten comes from the box tree (Buchsbaum) which grew here in large numbers – cf. Oberbuchsiten. The book and the apples are a reference to the patron saint of the local church, Nicholas of Myra.]
