The flag and arms of Taiobeiras were adopted on 16 December 1987 by Law No. 574
(http://www.taiobeiras.mg.gov.br/sis2009/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=67&Itemid=121):

Article 1, paragraph 2 of the law says: "The flag is white, representing the purity of the mind of the inhabitants, with the municipal coat of arms in the middle".

The coat of arms is described in Article 1, paragraph 1: "Based on heraldic studies, the basic national colors were adopted for the coat of arms: white, blue and yellow, symbolizing our nationality, with a projection of the sun, a main stat of our planet system, surmounted by the triangle representing the state of Minas Gerais; the sun on the coat of arms represents the rise of Taiobeiras in the North Minas Gerais context and a promising future."

The coat of arms is "Azure a sun or a chief of the second a triangle gules. A scroll red the writing sable "12-XII TAIOBEIRAS 1953". Taiobeiras seceded on 12 December 1953 from the municipality of Salinas.
